• Ensuring smooth ground operations:

  Monitoring and coordinating all ground operations activities, including aircraft- , passenger- and baggage handling as well as catering orders. Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in accordance with aviation regulations (EASA AIR OPS 965-2012)

• Management of ground staff and service providers:

  Management and training of ground staff and supervision of external service providers (ground handling services). Ensuring the effective collaboration between different teams such as ramp staff, engineering, flight crew and passenger services.

• Compliance and regulatory requirements:

  Ensuring that all ground operations comply with the requirements of the AOC and national and international aviation regulations. Conduct regular audits to verify compliance and promote continuous improvement. Point of contact for authorities and regulators regarding ground operations issues.

• Crisis management and emergency planning:

  Develop and implement contingency plans for ground operations, including responses to incidents or delays. Leading the team in crisis situations and ensuring smooth operations.

• Operational Efficiency:

  Improving ground ops processes to maximize efficiency and on time performance. Budget responsibility for the ground operations department and ensuring economical execution of ground operations.

• Communication and interface management:

  Close collaboration with internal departments such as flight planning, maintenance, passenger services and safety management. Ensuring transparent communication with management and relevant stakeholders

• Quality management and customer service:

  Ensuring a high level of service to passengers of our airline by monitoring the quality of ground handling services. Treating ailments and problems related to ground operations.

Requirements:

Professional experience: At least 5 years of experience in aviation, ideally in a leadership position in ground operations.

Education: Completed degree in aviation management, logistics or a comparable qualification.

Expertise: Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, particularly as they relate to ground operations and AOC requirements.

Leadership skills: Experience in leading and motivating teams as well as in managing service providers.

Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both in German and English.

Organizational skills: High level of planning and problem-solving skills, especially in stressful situations and volatile processes

IT knowledge: Familiar with software-based ground handling systems and MS office
